Syd Eckley has championed Older Persons for the past 37 years in many ways. His esteemed career and involvement with Older Persons will testify to his commitment. He qualified as a Social Worker (MSocSc) in 1979, to which he added a diploma in Gerontology in 1994. His knowledge on active ageing, legislation regarding Older Persons, his active and executive involvement in relevant organizations, his caring for Older Persons and much more, inspire the rest of the team.

Despite being the youngest member of the team, Lodie's passion for Older Persons is an asset.

He is a member of several forums focussed on matters concerning Older Persons.
He believes that every individual should take charge of her/his own future - the younger generation will not do that.

Ms Anneke Liebenberg:

Anneke's passion for Older Persons and their well-being took off after leaving behind the corporate world and getting involved in the world of Older Persons.

She joined Help Seniors shortly after its foundation and has worked diligently to establish a much needed source of help which affords Older Persons opportunities to age successfully

Older Persons should be taken care of by all and be appreciated and respected for building the younger generations a future.

Ds Hannes Swanepoel (RIP):

Born in 1927, dominee Hannes must have been the oldest fundraiser/golf day organizer in South Africa - an excellent example of Successful Ageing!  He has lived his live serving others and had a keen interest in Older Persons. Very often his dedication astounded the rest of team - in sickness and health he will soldiered on.
He passed away on 19 February 2010 and it was decided that, in his honour, we will continue to organize the "Hannes Swanepoel" Golf Days.

We shall miss him!
